It is not uncommon for a client to present with concerns relating to hypnotherapy, particularly relating to the ”mind control’ issue. Most people have seen stage hypnosis or street hypnosis at least once and think that the people in hypnosis have no control. Unfortunately this means that many practitioners using hypnosis for therapy meet resistance from clients, due to the preconceived idea that there is a lack of self control.

Hypnotherapy is in fact Supreme Self Control, as All Hypnosis is Self Hypnosis. By following the therapist’s suggestions, you allow yourself to go into a state of what is best described as absolute and deep relaxation. Hypnosis, contrary to belief, is not sleep.

Hypnosis is a heightened state of awareness that is experienced in our lives daily, and it this state of mind which allows therapists to be able to directly communicate with the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is where the emotions, habits and behavioural patterns are and in hypnotherapy the therapist is able to guide the client to change, improve or enhance such emotions, habits and behavioural patterns.

After experiencing hypnosis, clients will often report on how revitalised and at peace they feel. Hypnosis is indeed a powerful tool for change!
